My favorite movies

  • Borrowed Hearts
This Christmas movie is one I watch every year, right along with Miracle on 34th Street and White Christmas. It stars Roma Downey and Eric McCormack, with a delicious portion of Hector Elizondo.
  • You've Got Mail
Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks star in this delightful chick flick love story. And alas, it's about books and bookstores, and the internet. What a combination, huh?
  • Moonstruck
I lost count of how many times I've watched this movie after the 10th time. Cher stars as a woman whose life takes an unexpected turn which prompts her to re-invent herself. It is also one of those studies in family and culture, plus the music is great too. Also stars Nicholas Cage, yum.
  • The Mirror Has Two Faces
Another personal growth movie with Barbra Striesand about a woman with a negative self-image who has a paradigm shift. Jeff Bridges is great in it; plus an added bonus is Pierce Brosnan.
  • The Sound of Music
Great music aside, this is my all-time favorite for many reasons ... true story, beautiful scenery, love story, etc. But it also is a great example of how we sometimes think we know what our life will be, only to find out that God had a better idea.
